165. Getting back in the groove

These were the first couple of paintings I did for my figurative painting class this semester. The challenge was to paint 'white' objects in order to train our ability to see colour and mix paints. Okay, so the underside of a shell isn't exactly white. Haha.

Before this, I hadn't painted in almost a year; I remember I could almost hear my bones creak at the first stroke of my brush. I'm glad I've gotten my mojo back and have produced many a painting since then! I've done a couple more that I've yet to post so do keep a lookout for those!

Oil on wood, 2012.
